I want to use this page to share and set a few core values and beliefs that I want to uphold myself to and drive my life through.
#1 Integrity
The first core value, is Integrity. I think it’s important to own up to your actions and not hide behind excuses or silly lies. While you might get away for one instance, it’s being integral that builds your character, not lying.
Think about the father you want to be. Would you ever want your children to do this, would you ever want to do this with your friends, or to have your close friends or loved ones find out about an action of yours that lacked integrity.
Nope.
You will fail, you will fall down, you will get back up hurt, don’t try to run away from this. Own up to it and learn from it. You only grow when you acknowledge your shortcomings. Trust is based on integrity, and the world works on trust. And even if it wasn’t, what kind of person do you really want to be?
I’m sure the answer is not someone who is always running behind excuses.
#2 Love
Love over fear, love over ignorance, love over anger or hate.
I uphold myself to always approach situations and people with empathy and love. No matter how good or bad I’m feeling, or how my day has been. I want my external interactions to always be driven from a point of love.
Yes, it’s a high standard to set for yourself, and one might call it ‘perfectionism’ in the way that one can’t always be kind. I believe otherwise though.
I think one can always, always, every single time, be kind.
Because the world deserves it, not just the external, but your own world deserves you to be kind.
