Written with assistance from Claude (who basically built this whole site, so it knows the tech stack better than me). But I've read it all and it's legit. π€
π― Here's the deal:
I use basic analytics to see which pages people visit and what they click on. That's it. No creepy tracking, no selling your data, no spam. Just simple stats to help me understand what's useful and what's not.
(But if you want the details, keep reading. It's actually kinda interesting! π€)
I use PostHog (an open-source analytics tool) to collect anonymous usage data. Here's exactly what gets tracked:
π All of this is completely anonymous. I don't know who you are, where you live, or what you had for breakfast. But if you want to tell me, click here!
This is important. Here's what I specifically turned off:
Great question! I track basic analytics because I genuinely want to know:
(so I can write more of it)
(so I can fix it)
(so I can make it easier to use)
That's it. I'm not trying to build a profile on you or sell you anything. This is my personal website, not a data harvesting operation. π«πΌ
The data lives in PostHog's servers and:
I don't export it, sell it, or share it with anyone
Even if I wanted to know who you are, I couldn't
I look at overall patterns, not individual users
Old data gets deleted automatically
Since all tracking is anonymous, there's not much to "delete" about you specifically, but:
Use the toggle below to disable analytics entirely
Use an ad blocker or browser privacy features. I won't be offended
Most browsers have a "Do Not Track" setting that PostHog respects
Seriously, if you're curious about something, just ask

Besides PostHog for analytics, this site might use other services:
If I ever change how I handle privacy (spoiler: I probably won't make it worse), I'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. π
I won't email you about changes because... well, I don't have your email. See? Privacy! π§π«
I'm not a lawyer, but I believe in being transparent. If you're in the EU (GDPR), California (CCPA), or anywhere else with privacy laws: this site collects minimal, anonymous data that doesn't identify you personally. π
If you have concerns about compliance or privacy, let's talk about it. π¬
I'm a real person, and you can reach me. Check the homepage for contact info. π
Seriously, if something here concerns you or you just want to chat about privacy, I'm happy to talk. I built this site, I control the analytics, and I actually care about doing the right thing. β¨
I respect your privacy. I track the bare minimum to make this site better, and I don't do anything shady with your data. If that ever changes, I'll be upfront about it. That's the promise. π€
