The matrix and capitalism breeding fear

There is a whole ton of nuance and opinion in this piece, this is written more for me than anyone externally. Please talk to me about this before taking up something from the text below.

They say in the hindu philosophy that there are multiple yugas or periods of time.

And while I haven't really read much of it to truly interpret it, they say we're in the kalyuga, which is the worst of all in the way that it's much more full of indulgence and evil.

I think that the defining characteristic of our times is that everyone is afraid.

Everyone that you see around you is afraid of everything.

Capitalism breeds fear, capitalism thrives on the collective fear in the society.
Fear of the future, fear of not belonging, so many more things.

It is also that fear has lower friction of entry than love.
Love is not even about active external effort in reality, it's just about internal letting go, letting things be. Yet the friction of entry for love, due to that very reason is still a lot, because it's hard to just let things be and accept them as they are.

However, it's much easier, energy-wise, for us to hold onto something, or to get engaged in an emotion, not in the long term (when you look at it from a third person view), but rather in the short term. Because humans don't usually intuitively 'feel' in long term calculations.

This is the matrix we live in today.

A lot of us have dreams and things we want to do, but courage we lack.

I don't think our dreams or wants are really that extraordinary or impossible.
I think our hearts tell us truths of the world, truths that are often difficult to accept.

To follow our truth, to come alive, to follow that voice in ourselves, without fear and judgement - is an act of great courage.
